Our first time trying the Molette grape made by itself, so for others too, here’s a little info:
“Molette is a white wine grape belonging to France primarily planted in the region of Savoie, which as a varietal has a tendency to produce wine of neutral taste so it is mostly combined with Rousette to improve the complexity and its addition can provide a significant peppery feature.”
Rather than being blended, Alice has used it solo here and we all really enjoyed the previous 2020 vintage, which is slightly salty, chalky and a bit banana-ish in the best possible way 😋
Previous 2020 vintage: Lovely and bright yet with lower acidity than many l’Octavin wines, making it more accessible for multiple occasions.
Refreshing and tasty !
