La Araucaria ‘Blanco’ features subtle, soft tannins which work well on this Volcanic orange wine. There is also a lovely, rounded mouthfeel with not too much skin-contact, perhaps just the right amount to not need food to work best with. Notes of herbs, satsuma, floral touches and a light minerality. Very nicely balanced, elegant and interesting.
Dolores Cabrera Fernandez has been growing grapes for other producers in Valle de la Orotava, on a volcanic island of Tenerife, but since 2013 she also makes wine herself under the brand La Araucaria.
The wines are made almost exclusively from Listan Negro & Listan Blanco grapes, a predominant variety of Canarian Islands. La Araucaria wines are fresh and expressive, reflecting well the volcanic character of Tenerifian terruño.
