Still red Chianti Rufina Riserva, 13.5% ABV, produced by Castello Nipozzano – Frescobaldi. Blend: 90% Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera. 0.75L bottle, 2021 vintage. A wine born in a historic stronghold, Castello Nipozzano, the heart of Chianti Rufina. The grapes, harvested in late September, ferment spontaneously in concrete vats. Aged for 24 months in 30hl wooden barrels, followed by a period in bottle for greater balance. On the nose, floral and fruity notes are perfectly integrated with the spice. Rosehip and violet stand out, balancing with hints of small red berries. A lingering balsamic note and elegant toastiness complete the aroma. On the palate, it is silky with a fine tannic texture. The acidity is perfectly balanced with the alcohol. Long and persistent finish.
