Michi Lorenz – Aura M 2019

Aura M is a natural orange wine crafted by , in the Styria / Steiermark region in . This macerated, skin-contact wine is made with grapes, which is a grape also know as Muskat Ottonel or Muscat d’Alexandria.

This is the Aura M made with this grape, whilst there is also another Aura which is made with Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Aura M by Michi Lorenz

This Orange wine has caught our attention, but we have not yet tried it. We hope to this week. We hear it has very concentrated stone fruit notes for a macerated wine, with a slightly spicy note too.

The grapes for Aura M are grown on black slate soils, with vines farmed in a holistic method aged between 20-30 years old, which are grow on steep vineyard terraces at around 500m elevation. This wine is aged in old barrique and sees no added sulphur in its vinification or bottling.
